## 2026-08-06 — NAICS 2027 revision analysis tables archived (citable DOI)
- Analysis tables for the industries affected by the proposed 2027 NAICS revision
  (91 FR 42976; Docket USBC-2026-0133) — per-code federal contract measures for the
forty-six industries proposed for consolidation, the constructed 2022–2027
predecessor-to-successor crosswalk, and two structural tests — are published as a
fixed, independently citable deposit: Federal Marketplace Index™ — NAICS 2027
Revision Analysis Data Deposit, v1.0 (2026), Zenodo, DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21828356
  (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21828356).
- Every socioeconomic category recorded in the federal award data is reported on
identical terms; every measure states its denominator. FY2026 rows are a partial
year and are excluded from trend statements. No existing figure changed.

  ## 2026-07-10 — base source data archived (citable DOI)
- The exact source data underlying the Index — the full USAspending contract archives
(FY2022–FY2026), the SAM.gov entity extract (2026-07-01), the SAM historical extracts
(2014–2026), and the retrieval manifests — is now preserved as a fixed, independently
citable snapshot: Federal Marketplace Index™ — Base Data Deposit (data as of 2026-07-01),
  Zenodo, DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21288526 (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21288526).
- Recorded because it establishes the date the underlying data became independently
citable and reproducible even if the originating government systems later restrict,
alter, or withdraw it. No figure changed; same v0.2 data, now archived at source.
- Methodology and Downloads pages updated to reference the deposit DOI.

## v0.3 — 2026-07 (home page: symmetric charts + supplier-base trend)
- The home-page protection-layer chart now renders all nine documented socioeconomic
categories, matching the v0.2 data widening (the chart had still shown four). No
figure changed; six category rows were surfaced that were already in the published table.
- Added the small-business supplier-base trend — distinct suppliers by fiscal year,
  FY2022–FY2025 final with FY2026 shown as partial — from a new `vendor_trend.csv`,
now also listed on Downloads. Reconciles to the SBA FY2025 scorecard vendor count.
- The order-channel chart now shows all-federal vs. small-business (the market-level
view); per-category order-channel detail remains in the downloadable series.
- Masthead readings revised for plain-language clarity and to lead with the scale of
the marketplace measured. No headline now rests on a partial fiscal year.
- Recorded for completeness: on 2026-07-07 the Methodology, Downloads, and About pages
were completed (sources, definitions, and reconciliation tables published; archived-release
DOI links added; interest disclosure and contact added), and an inaccurate funding
statement on the About page was removed. Text-only changes; no figure affected.
- Data as of 2026-07-01, unchanged from v0.2 — a presentation/coverage update, not a data refresh.

## v0.2 — 2026-07 (exposure table widened to all documented socioeconomic categories)
- `exposure_layers.csv` now reports all nine documented socioeconomic categories —
small business, SDB, 8(a), WOSB, EDWOSB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, VOSB, and women-owned —
alongside all federal dollars, up from four (all, small, WOSB, EDWOSB). **No
  previously published figure changed:** the four prior categories reproduce exactly;
six category columns were added. Same base data (FY2022–FY2026), same award-level
banding and thresholds, same reconciliation to SBA goaling figures.
- Reading note: for the program categories, the statutory-band (L2) share reflects
where set-aside–eligible dollars sit. The women-owned column is broader than the
WOSB program (women-owned firms of any size); read its layers as the share of that
category's dollars in each band, not as WOSB-program eligibility. Race/ethnicity
breakdowns are deferred to a forthcoming edition.
- Data as of 2026-07-01, unchanged from v0.1 — this is a coverage/method update, not
  a data refresh.

## v0.1 — 2026-07 (initial public release)
- First publication: protection-layer exposure table and order-channel migration
series, FY2022–FY2026, from ~30.1M public contract actions reconciled to SBA
goaling figures. Published to accompany public comments filed in the FAR
  Overhaul rulemakings (FAR Cases 2026-001, -002, -005, -007).
- Known limitations: FY2026 figures are partial-year and labeled as such.
